Lab conservator Helen Dewolf and skeletal analyst Gentry Steele carefully inspect the skull which, to their surprise, held an intact brain. Dewolf holds the skull in an inverted position to keep brain matter from spilling out. The brain was removed by pouring ethanol and water into the skull, a process which made the tissue float out easily.
