1907 postcard image of a “Mexican jacal ”  showing multiple construction episodes.  The original residence is a gabled palisade structure. The kitchen structure to the left is a shed roofed palisado structure, complete with an exterior, mortared fireplace and chimney.  It should be noted that the chimney is probably an Anglo-American influence.  The third structure is a relatively late addition built of saw cut lumber planks.
