White Horse. The Kiowa chief, along with Lone Wolf and Big Tree, led warriors in a violent attack on a wagon caravan at Howard's Well station in April, 1872. Army troops arriving on the scene shortly thereafter found the freighters' charred bodies lashed to wagon wheels and burned bodies of women and children strewn over the ground.
