West wall of the original Unit C excavated in 1975 as it appeared in March, 1976. While parts of the wall have slumped or been damaged by visitors, the complex and well preserved layering can still be seen. Notice the light gray band in the upper wall-this is an ash lens that has been disturbed by a later intrusion (center of wall). On both sides of the disturbed area the ash lens rests on a thin layer of charcoal. Photo by Phillip Williams. TAMU Anthropology archives.
