View from the bed of Chilipin Creek looking up to the wooded creek bluff upon which the Hinojosa site is located. The narrow gap in the woods through which the blue sky can be glimpsed is a survey line cut by the archeologists. The riparian (streamside) woods today probably consists of the same species that were present when Indian groups camped here: hackberry, elm, live oak, mesquite, acacia, anaqua, persimmon, and various bushes, grasses, and vines. The riparian woods is also one of the preferred habitats of deer, the favored prey of the hunters who camped at the site.
