| The Caddo made stone tools such as these axe heads or "celts" and attached them to wooden handles for many wood-working tasks. Although cutting down a tree with a stone axe is much slower than with a good metal axe, bit by bit the job gets done. Sometimes the Caddo built small fires at the base of a tree to help speed things up. |
