After a meal was prepared, utensils were needed to serve it and knives, forks, and spoons would have been used to consume it. This photo illustrates the varieties of eating utensils recovered from the Williams farmstead, including plain utensils of iron (probably with wooden handles), decorated spoons of brass or white metal (probably plated), and an elaborate engraved knife fragment (b) with white metal bolsters and a polished bone handle.
