Nueces tools, an adze form unique to the South Texas Plains. Once called “scrapers,” use wear studies show that most were woodworking tools. Many are unifacial tools made on flakes, but others are bifaces and some of these appear to have been made on recycled fragments of relatively large biface fragments. The two largest specimens in this image appear to be examples of such recycling. Riley Collection, TARL.
