Partially excavated central hearth in Building 125 (cross-sectioned posthole in background). The intense burning that took place in this feature is readily apparent. This hearth may have held a "perpetual fire" like that seen in the Hasinai Fire Temples seen by the Spanish in the late 1600s. TARL archives.
