This basin-shaped cooking hearth (Feature 60; AU2) was one of many containing extensive macrobotanical remains. Four geophyte bulb fragments, pokeweed seed, and charred wood of the elm/hackberry family, plum/cherry, hickory/pecan, ash, sycamore, mulberry were found, along with an Ensor dart point, flakes, a charred bone, and 24 unmodified mussel shells. The feature had been partially truncated by Trench 3.
