Stain at the Higginbotham site (Feature 24). This basin-shaped stain feature is composed of dark brown soil with charcoal flecking and two concentrated patches of charcoal. No artifacts were found within the feature. A charcoal sample yielded a conventional radiocarbon age of 2930+/-40 B.P. Such features may represent expedient hearths, postholes, or tree burns.
